Literacy Centres
On days 1-4, the teacher has his/her own centre. This may be reading evaluations, individual or small group help, or guided reading. Students who are not part of the teacher’s centre may not come to the teacher with questions during centre time. Routines and using resources to answer questions will be extensively practiced for the first few weeks of the school year with teacher guidance so that centres run smoothly later in the year and the teacher may give his/her full attention to the students at their own centre.
