Literacy Assessment
- Reading Assessments - will take place during literacy centres. Click here.
- Phonological awareness- informally tested through rhyming, blending and segmenting tasks, during direct instruction time
- Oral French- teachers are constantly listening to children talking, and analysing what important grammar or vocabulary is missing and may need to be explicitly taught
- Journal entries- teachers look for errors that many students are making to guide mini lessons during direct instruction time. Each student is given one writing goal to focus on per week, such as sounding out, or capitalizing the beginning of sentences.
